5 Tips to make your skin glow - by Laura Smyth from Lush Skin & Body

I met Laura last year, she was actually one of my first wholesalers, and the first one from Victoria. Laura now has a second beauty clinic located in Perth -
Lush Skin & Body. It is a beautiful studio located in the heart of Mt. Hawthorn. She shares five tips on how to make your skin glow.


‘One of the most common things I see in the salon is neglected skin. With the rat race of life, we forget to take time out to look after ourselves and our skin. Here are some simple tricks that will help get your skin glowing and radiant from the inside out.'


1 - WATER, WATER, WATER
This one is a no-brainer. The easy part: You already know that drinking two litres of water daily is essential for healthy skin because it flushes out toxins, and keeps your insides running efficiently. The hard part? Figuring out how to squeeze in those eight glasses without getting bored or giving in to soda cravings. Solution: Create an H2O cocktail by spiking your water with a slice of fresh fruit!

2 - HIT THE GYM
Start doing cardio exercises to increase your blood flow and get the oxygen in your blood moving. The fruits of your labour will show up in the form of clearer, more radiant skin. Just two or three workouts a week can make all the difference!

 

3 - TAKE CARE OF YOUR GUT
Research shows that underlying gut health issues can manifest on the skin in many ways, from acne to eczema. Overall gut health is nuanced and complex, and it is important (for so, so many reasons) for everyone to take the time to learn how to care for and nourish your own unique gut flora. However, here is a general guideline: Anything that will damage your gut (sugar, processed food) may also damage your skin. 4 - INVEST IN YOUR SKIN ROUTINE
Investing early in the health of your skin, with regular skincare, will not only better protect it from the harsh effects of the natural elements, but also keep you looking and feeling your best throughout the year. 5 - SLIP SLOP SLAP
I should not have to tell you this one, but I am going to anyway. Always wear sunscreen! Wear it on rainy days. Wear it on cloudy days. Wear it when you go to work. Wear it often. There are lots of great brands making daily-use SPFs that don’t make you smell like you’re going to the beach, like ASAP’s Daily Defence Sunscreen. Not only does it glide on smoothly, but it also protects you against UVA & UVB. One of the best anti-ageing beauty products you can use is Sunscreen. Please don’t leave home without it!
